MELIAH RAGE To Cover ALICE COOPER For 'Barely Human' Re-Release
April 6, 2010Boston power metal veterans MELIAH RAGE are in the process of remixing their 2004 release "Barely Human" at Red Devil Studios in Stoughton, Massachusetts with studio owner Ted Ostrander behind the controls.
According to MELIAH RAGE mainman Anthony Nichols, the remixing of the record is long overdue. "It was our comeback record and it was recorded and mixed very quickly," he said. "The performances and material are strong but the day it was released we realized we rushed the mix."
To help with the promotion of the album's upcoming re-release, the band will record and add as a bonus track a cover version of the ALICE COOPER song "Halo Of Flies" from his "Killer" record. This will be the first cover song MELIAH RAGE has ever done.
MELIAH RAGE has 14 new songs "ready to go" for a possible late 2010 release. In addition, the band will likely embark on a European tour in 2011. The group states, "It's been a long time since we've been overseas and we're very excited about this."
"Masquerade", the latest album from MELIAH RAGE, was released in September 2009 via Screaming Ferret/Metro City Records. The CD was recorded at The Outpost in Stoughton, Massachusetts and was mastered in November 2008 by producer Rich Spillberg (WARGASM),who has worked with everyone from STEEL ASSASSIN to JOSH GROBAN. According to the group, "The music on the record is much faster and heavier than the past few records and features a guest appearance by METAL CHURCH frontman Ronny Munroe."
MELIAH RAGE shot a video for the song "Hour Glass", the first single off "Masquerade". The clip, which was directed by Brad Piche and produced by Branden Maxham, is now available for viewing below.
